Love and Monsters, was released on October 16, 2020 in the United States, on VOD. In France, it will be available on Netflix from April 14, 2021. The new movie directed by Michael Matthews (Five Fingers for Marseilles), and produced by the producers of Stranger Things, is a post-apocalyptic comedy.
Love and Monsters, tells the story of a young man Joel Dawson (Dylan O’brien) who lives underground with the rest of humanity since the collapse of civilization. On the surface, giant creatures of all kinds have taken over the Earth. One day, he reconnects with his old high school girlfriend Aimee (Jessica Henwick) through a radio call. Joel is still in love with Aimee and wants to find her, but she is 130km away from Joel’s colony. Joel decides to leave and go find her, but to do so, he has to face the many creatures on earth; accompanied in his journey by a dog, also alone, a woman and a man. How will he manage? Will Joel find Aimee?
