Bob Iger, back at Disney as CEO, is determined to straighten the bar of the group with big ears. To do so, he decided to call on reliable values and made it official that Disney had ordered sequels to three of its animated films.
“Today I’m so pleased to announce that we have sequels in the works from our animation studios to some of our most popular franchises, namely Toy Story, Frozen and Zootopia, said Bob Iger at the company’s Q1 earnings call. We’ll have more to share about these productions soon, but this is a great example of how we’re leaning into our unrivaled brands and franchises.”
The first news about the sequels came just hours after Bob Iger‘s announcement. Tim Allen confirmed his return as the voice of Buzz Lightyear. Lending his voice to the character since the launch of the Toy Story franchise, he had to leave his place to Chris Evans in the Buzz Lightyear movie released in 2022. A decision that had not pleased the fans of the character and who will be reassured to find the voice of Tim Allen in Toy Story 5.
See ya soon Woody, you are a sad strange little man and you have my pity. And off we go to a number 5! To infinity and beyond! pic.twitter.com/bwRzE487Vi
