After bringing Uncharted to the big screen, Sony is about to adapt another video game: Days Gone. According to Deadline, this adaptation has been given to Sheldon Turner, nominated for his work on Up in the Air, who also wrote the screenplays for X: First Class, The Longest Yard and The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning.
According to the American media, the studio has also found the actor who will play Deacon St. John, the main protagonist of the game. They have chosen Sam Heughan, who has been starring in the series Outlander for six seasons and who has also been seen in SAS: Red Notice, Bloodshot and The Spy Who Dumped Me.
A choice that does not satisfy Jeff Ross, director of the game. He showed his disagreement on Twitter by indicating that the studio should have hired Sam Witwer, the actor who lent his voice to Deacon St. John and who was also used for all the motion capture phase to give life to this character.
Absolutely ridiculous they aren’t casting Sam Witwer. He’s got the physicality, the right look, and he can motherfucking act. https://t.co/gwQp0FRDTf

For those unfamiliar with Days Gone, the game takes place in the United States after a devastating global pandemic. It follows Deacon St. John, a biker struggling to survive in this devastated, mutant-filled world as he searches for the woman in his life, presumed long dead.
