It was a short wait to find out whether Fallout would return for a second season on Prime Video. One week after the launch of the series inspired by the eponymous video games, the streaming platform has made it official that new episodes will be ordered. The decision comes as Prime Video announced, in a press release, that the Fallout series had ranked among the three most-watched programs in the platform’s history.

Commenting on the renewal, Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon MGM Studios, said: “Jonah [Nolan], Lisa [Joy], Geneva [Robertson-Dworet], and Graham [Wagner] have captivated the world with this ground-breaking, wild ride of a show. The bar was high for lovers of this iconic video game and so far we seem to have exceeded their expectations, while bringing in millions of new fans to the franchise. The cast led by Ella Purnell, Aaron Moten, Walton Goggins, and Kyle MacLachlan have knocked it out of the park!” She added: “We’d like to thank Jonah and Lisa and our friends at Bethesda for bringing the show to usas well as Geneva and Graham for coming aboard as showrunners.  We are thrilled to announce season two after only one week out and take viewers even farther into the surreal world of Fallout.”

The first season of Fallout follows Lucy (Ella Purnell), a young woman who leaves the shelter in which she was raised to search for her father. During her journey, she discovers a particularly violent post-apocalytic world and crosses paths with Maximus (Aaron Moten), a soldier of the Brotherhood of Steel, and Cooper Howard (Walton Goggins), a man who was transformed into a ghoul by the nuclear war 200 years ago.
