As the second season of Wednesday began filming, Netflix took the opportunity to provide an update on the cast for this new salvo of episodes. We tell you all about it.

While Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as Mercredi Addams in the second season of Mercredi, fans of the series will have to be patient before they can discover the new episodes. As Netflix has revealed, filming has just begun in Ireland and as a result, Season 2 won’t be available on the streaming platform until 2025. To make fans wait until then, Netflix has offered them a first glimpse of the cast that will take part in the series created by Miles Millar and Alfred Gough.

To reveal the names of the actors who will appear in the second season of Wednesday, Netflix called on Thing. In a teaser video, the famous hand at the service of The Addams Family drops scripts in front of some of the actors’ dressing rooms. Names familiar to fans include Jenna Ortega (Wednesday), Emma Myers (Enid), Joy Sunday (Bianca) and Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia). The video also reveals the names of Steve Buscemi and Thandiwe Newton‘s characters, which were confirmed a few weeks ago. They will play Barry Dort and Dr. Fairburn, respectively. Two other characters who were absent from the first season will also receive a script on their doorstep: those played by Billie Piper (Capri) and Joanna Lumley (Grandma).

The teaser video also confirmed the return of Tim Burton as director, at least for the first episode, and a number of familiar faces. Confirmed for Wednesday Season 2 are Hunter Doohan (Tyler), Victor Dorobantu (Thing), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene), Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago), Georgie Farmer (Ajax), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley), Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester), Luis Guzman (Gomez) and newcomers Evie Templeton, Owen Painter and Noah Taylor.

The series, starring Jenna Ortega, will also welcome a number of guest stars, including Jamie McShane (Bloodline), Frances O’Connor (Mr. Selfridge), Haley Joel Osment (The Sixth Sense), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries), Joonas Suotamo (Star Wars) and Christopher Lloyd (Back to the Future). The latter is no stranger to the Addams Family universe, having played Uncle Fester on the big screen.
