Launched on November 23, 2022 on Netflix, the series Wednesday has quickly become one of the biggest successes of the streaming platform. If its renewal seemed inevitable, the main question was to know when it would be official. And it is now done.
In a video of almost a minute, Netflix has confirmed that the series will return, soon, for a second season. Jenna Ortega, who conquered the public with her interpretation of Wednesday, will of course be back in the main role.
Wednesday‘s eight-episode first season had 341.23 million hours of viewing in its first week, and 411.29 million hours in its second week. Expectations will be high for this series that has been a success around the world.
Miles Millar and Alfred Gough, co-creators of the series, told Tudum following the renewal, “We can’t wait to dive headfirst into another season and explore the kooky, spooky world of Nevermore. We just need to make sure Wednesday hasn’t emptied the pool first.”
Wednesday‘s second season will have to answer many unanswered questions: will the Hyde return to haunt the residents of Jericho? Who is Wednesday’s stalker? Will we see more of the Addams Family? Answer in the coming months.
