The CW has given the green light to two additional series for the 2020-2021 season. Kung Fu and The Republic of Sarah will be joining Superman & Lois and Walker as part of next season’s lineup.

The Republic of Sarah managed to convince The CW’s decision-makers after having made changes to the cast and a minor reworking of its plot. In this series, we will follow Sarah Cooper (Stella Baker) who finds herself at the head of a brand new nation when her town declares its independence in order to avoid its destruction at the hands of a mining company. The cast will also include Izabella Alvarez (Westworld), Nia Holloway (Hawaii 5-0), Hope Lauren (Awkward.), Luke Mitchell (Blindspot), Landry Bender (Looking for Alaska), Ian Duff (New Amsterdam) et Forrest Goodluck (The Revenant).

Kung Fu, the reboot of the eponymous series, will follow Nicky Chen (Olivia Liang), a young woman leaving her studies in order to embark on a spiritual and initiatory journey to an isolated monastery in China. When she returns to her hometown, she discovers a city consumed by crime and corruption. She decides to use her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice while searching for her mentor’s killer. Jon Prasida (Tomorrow), Shannon Dang (So Foreign), Eddie Liu (The Waiting Room), Gavin Stenhouse (Allegiance), Tzi Ma (Wu Assassins), Gwendoline Yeo (American Crime) and Kheng Hua Tan (Marco Polo) will also be part of the cast.

The Lost Boys (once again) and Maverick failed to convince the channel but are still in development. There hasn’t been any decision yet regarding Green Arrow And The Canaries, another series that could be part of the Arrowverse.
