Fans of The Boys can be reassured: the adaptation of Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson‘s comics will not end in 2022. Indeed, Amazon Studios has just given its green light for a season 4, only one week after having started broadcasting the episodes of the third season. A decision that occurs while the global audience of The Boys has increased significantly since the launch of the series.

In a statement released by Amazon Studios, Vernon Sanders, head of global television said, “From our first conversation with Eric Kripke and the creative team about Season Three of The Boys, we knew the show was continuing to get even bolder—an impressive feat considering the wild success of the Emmy-nominated second season. The Boys continues to push boundaries in storytelling while also being relentlessly entertaining […] We are immensely proud of the cast and crew that has spawned a franchise for Prime Video, and we look forward to bringing more of The Boys to our customers.”

Eric Kripke, creator and showrunner of the series, is grateful to Sony, Amazon and especially the fans for embracing the series. He adds, “We’re thrilled to continue Butcher and the Boys’ fight against Homelander and the Seven.”
