Last January, Ted Sarandos, the CEO of Netflix, had teased the renewal of Squid Game for a second season. A few months later, the news is made official with a short video and a message from Hwang Dong-hyuk, the creator of the series.
In this message, the director, writer and producer of Squid Game thanks the fans around the world who have helped the series become the most popular of all time on the platform. He also confirms the return of two characters: Gi-Hun (Lee Jung-jae) and the master of the game.
Hwang Dong-hyuk also teases a potential return of the man in the suit who plays ddakji and announces the arrival of the boyfriend of Young Hee (the animatronic doll from the first round of Squid Game).
