Steve Carell and his Space Force will continue to officiate on Netflix after the streaming giant orders a second season. This new round of episodes will be accompanied by a few adjustments.

First, the series will now be shot in Vancouver instead of Los Angeles to reduce production costs. Secondly, changes are being made to the creative team. Norm Hiscock (Parks and Recreation, Brooklyn Nine-Nine) joins the series as a co-showrunner alongside Greg Daniels, creator of the series. Jimmy O. Yang, who plays Dr. Chan Kaifang in Space Force, joins the scriptwriting team.

As reminder, Space Force follows General Mark R. Naird (Steve Carell), a pilot emeritus dreaming of leading the Air Force, which is propelled to the head of the new Space Force, the sixth branch of the U.S. armed forces. Skeptical but dedicated, Mark takes his family to live on a remote military base in Colorado. With his colorful team, his mission is to send Americans to the moon as a matter of urgency to ensure the nation’s supremacy in space. The cast includes John Malkovch (The New Pope), Lisa Kudrow (Friends), Ben Schwartz (House of Lies), Diana Dilvers (Ma), Tawny Newsome (Bajillion Dollar Propertie$) and Don Lake (Watching Ellie).
