AMC has (real) confidence in its adaptation of the novel Interview with the Vampire and gives it a second season. A renewal that came even though the series had not yet started airing.
For those unfamiliar with Anne Rice‘s work, Interview with the Vampire follows the epic love story between Louis de Pointe du Lac (Jacob Anderson), Lestat de Lioncourt (Sam Reid) and Claudia (Bailey Bass) through the centuries.
The eight-episode second season will be set in Europe and will again be directed by Mark Johnson and Rolin Jones.
In a press release, Dan McDermott, the network’s head of original content, said of the renewal, “the scope and breadth of this show, and what Mark and Rolin have delivered, is just stupendous.” He adds, “this is only the beginning of an entire Universe featuring enthralling stories and characters that capture the spirit of Anne Rice’s amazing work.” To confirm these words, AMC will begin airing Anne Rice’s Mayfair Witches series in January 2023.
