Korean drama Snowdrop will make its international debut on Disney+ starting February 9, 2022 as announced by the streaming service through a press release.

With 16 episodes, the series directed by Jo Hyun-tak and written by Yoo Hyun-mi (the duo behind SKY Castle) will follow the forbidden romance between two young Koreans, Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo) and Im Soo-Ho (Jung Hae-In). According to the official synopsis, when a blood-soaked man (Jung Hae-In) bursts into the dormitory of a women’s university in Seoul, Korea, Eun Yeong-ro (Jisoo) will go against her better judgement and risk being expelled to hide the man from his attackers and tend to his wounds. Unbeknownst to Yeong-ro, the man has a harrowing secret that threatens to put her friends’ and family’s safety at risk, and the two young lovers will have to work together to overcome the obstacles.

Particularly well received on Disney+’s Asian platforms, will the series also be welcomed internationally? A wish from Director Jo Hyun-tak: Snowdrop is a heart-warming fictional melodrama about a young couple in love, and as the story unfolds, find themselves enduring an unbearable pain that one rarely encounters in a lifetime. I hope global audiences find this heartfelt series also gripping and suspenseful as the two come to face their fate.”

The cast includes BLACKPINK member Jisoo and Jung Hae-In (While You Were Sleeping, One Spring Night) as well as Jang Seung Jo (The Good Detective, Money Flower), Yoo In Na (The Spies Who Loved Me, Goblin), Yoon Se Ah (SKY Castle, Stranger 2), Kim Hye Yoon (Extraordinary You, Secret Royal Inspector & Joy), and Jung Eugene (Catch the Ghost, Romance Is a Bonus Book).
