Several months after the cancellation of Shadow and Bone by Netflix, fans of the series adapting Leigh Bardugo’s work are still mobilized to obtain a spin-off on the Six of Crows and additional seasons of their favorite series. Let’s take a look.

On May 4 and 5, 2024, Empire Conventions hosted the third edition of A Storm of Crows and Shadows, an event dedicated to the Shadow and Bone series, with 12 cast members in attendance. It was an opportunity to confirm that the buzz around the Netflix series is still going strong, with fans coming out in force to Paris to chat with their favorite actors and actresses. The event was also an opportunity to reiterate the ongoing fan mobilization for a return of the show to the small screen, as well as a spin-off focusing on the Six of Crows. And the stars of Shadow and Bone are not ready to give up the fight either.

A petition supported by over 200,000 people

The “SAVE Shadow and Bone!” petition on Change.org, started shortly after the show’s cancellation was announced, has attracted over 206,000 signatories from all over the world at the time of writing. Proof that the series has managed to bring people together wherever it has aired, and that many people want the adventure to continue.

During the A Storm of Crows and Shadows 3 convention, several of the show’s stars confirmed that they were among the signers of this petition in support of Shadow and Bone. Nearly all of the guests also expressed their frustration at not being able to explore more of their characters and the relationships between them, which would have been possible with additional seasons and/or a Six of Crows spin-off.

Piñata, watch parties, billboards… Many actions to support the series

The A Storm of Crows and Shadows 3 event was also an opportunity to talk about a number of initiatives that have taken place over the past few months. In addition to the usual billboard purchases, watch parties, and tweet campaigns using the hashtags #SaveShadowAndBone and #SixOfCrowsSpinoff, fans have created a 250-page book titled “Dear Netflix, Love the Grishaverse”.

Fans are also planning to deliver a sun-shaped piñata to Netflix headquarters. What’s special about this piñata? It will contain hundreds of messages from Shadow and Bone fans. You can contribute until May 25, 2024.
