Queen Charlotte: a trailer and release date for the Bridgerton spin-off

While waiting for the third season of Bridgerton to air, fans of the adaptation of Julia Quinn‘s work will be able to enjoy the first spin-off of the series centered on the character of Queen Charlotte. And they won’t have to wait long to discover this prequel.

At an event with members of the cast and Shonda Rhimes, creator of Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, Netflix revealed that the series will be available starting May 4, 2023. The streaming platform also took the opportunity to release a first teaser, which confirms that the sets and costumes will once again be sumptuous.

What is the Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story series about?

In this prequel to Bridgerton, viewers will follow the youth of Queen Charlotte. Played in the original series by Golda Rosheuvel, this time the character will be played by India Amarteifio.

The series will follow young Charlotte’s rise to the throne and how her marriage to young King George (Corey Mylchreest) will lead to a great love story and a great change in British society.

To further entice Bridgerton fans, the producers have added two more characters from the original series: Lady Agatha Danbury (Adjoa Andoh) and Lady Violet Ledger Bridgerton (Ruth Gemmell). The young versions of these characters will be played by Arsema Thomas and Connie Jenkins-Creig, respectively.
