Since its launch on Netlix on August 31, 2023, One Piece has topped the list of most-watched series on the streaming platform and has logically been renewed for a second season. As a result, new characters will appear in the series, starting with Tony-Tony Chopper, the humanoid reindeer with the blue nose. And Chopper also means the presence of the eccentric Dr. Kureha. But who could play him? One Piece fans have an actress in mind and are campaigning for Jamie Lee Curtis to join the cast of season 2.
Jamie Lee Curtis up for role in One Piece
It didn’t take long for the movement started by One Piece fans to find its way to the main protagonist. On her Instagram account, Jamie Lee Curtis, best known for her role as Laurie Strode in the Halloween saga, announced that she will be campaigning for the role once “the strike against the greed of the AMTPT is settled with a fair contract”. This isn’t the first time the actress has expressed interest in playing Dr. Kureha, as she shared a Twitter post to that effect in March 2023.
Jamie Lee Curtis shouldn’t have to do much lobbying to get the role, as One Piece showrunner Matt Owens told her on Instagram that they can talk about it as soon as the strike is over.
