A new series about the CIA is about to debut on Paramount+, and it features an all-star cast.

Taylor Sheridan, who in recent years has been behind Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown and Tulsa King, has decided to take on a new serial project with Lioness. Based on an actual CIA program, the series follows Cruz Manuelos (Laysla De Oliveira), a young Marine recruited to join the CIA’s Lioness team, whose goal is to dismantle a terrorist organization from within.

If the name Laysla De Oliveira (Locke & Key) doesn’t necessarily speak to the general public, the other names in the cast of Lioness should. Zoe Saldana (Guardians of the Galaxy), Nicole Kidman (Big Little Lies) and Morgan Freeman (Invictus) are all attached to the project.

Zoe Saldana will play Joe, the station chief of the Lioness team who is in charge of training, managing and directing the undercover female recruits. Nicole Kidman will play Kaitlyn Meade, a CIA official who must juggle the difficulties of being a powerful woman, an attention-seeking wife and a mentor to someone who seems to be on the same path as her. Morgan Freeman, meanwhile, will play Edwin Mullins, the U.S. Secretary of State.

The cast will also include familiar faces from Taylor Sheridan‘s series including Dave Annable (Yellowstone), Stephanie Nur (1883), James Jordan (Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Yellowstone) and LaMonica Garrett (1883).

Also announced for Lioness are Austin Hebert (Ray Donovan), Sam Asghari (Black Monday), Jonah Wharton (The Rookie), Hannah Love Lanier (The Tiny Mighty Club), Adam Budron (Americano), Scot Teller (Dear Edward), Martin Donovan (Archive 81), Carla Mansour, and Michael Kelly (House of Cards).

Lioness is part of Paramount+’s growing slate of productions that includes 1883, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King and 1923, as well as upcoming series Bass Reeves and Land Man, among others. At this time, no release date has been revealed by the streaming platform for Lioness.
