Larry Saperstein, the Big Red interpreter in High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, is gradually making his voice heard. After performing White Christmas for the Christmas special, which is expected to air on Disney+ on December 11th, the young comedian has unveiled an original song on YouTube.
Titled Not Quite Christmas, this song, written for fun according to Larry Saperstein, sums up the year 2020 and the atmosphere surrounding Christmas for many people at this particular time. The clip created from home videos is an opportunity to see the moments spent with his friends from High School Musical: The Musical: The Series apart from the filming. Not Quite Christmas
Well it’s not quite Christmas but it’s not Halloween,
And I’m just chillin, chillin somewhere in between.
It’s been the hardest year I think it’s probably ever been,
When the daily news would keep on getting worse again.
To think for seven months, I wanted just to be alone,
But now I’m missing New York City and my folks back home
I’ve got a lot to be thankful for don’t get me wrong but
Not really into the bells and holiday cheer.
I guess it’s always a little hard to be lonely, but
Maybe it’s still just a little harder this year.
So I’ll get cozy in my sweaters that I bought for myself
I’ll put my unused couples costume on the highest shelf
I hope that next year I’ll have someone around who makes me feel seen
And we’ll be hangin out together after quarantine.

I’m hangin out in my apartment every day and night
I hope that old st nick will find me when the time is right.
And as the leaves keep changing time feels like it’s sittin still.
I’ve just got me myself and I and endless days to fill

But maybe right now the world is just feeling different.
