American network NBC has decided to clean up its schedule ahead of the 2025-2026 season. While Law and Order, Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, the Chicago franchise, Happy’s Place and St. Denis Medical have all been given the green light by NBC for new seasons, five of the network’s other series have not.
According to several U.S. media outlets, NBC has decided not to renew Found, Night Court, Lopez vs. Lopez, The Irrational and Suits LA. While these decisions will come as a disappointment to fans of these shows, they won’t come as a surprise based on the numbers that each of these shows has achieved, especially when compared to previous seasons. For example, Found, Night Court and The Irrational all lost between 28 and 40% of their viewers compared to the 2023-2024 season, placing them at the bottom of NBC’s ratings. Lopez vs. Lopez, on the other hand, improved its ratings slightly in its third season, but not enough to secure a renewal, with the NBC series ranking 12th out of 15 in terms of viewership.
Suits LA, meanwhile, launched its first season on NBC but never managed to attract viewers, averaging less than 1.5 million. Only Grosse Pointe Garden Society, whose fate has yet to be decided, performed worse on NBC, with 1.2 million viewers.
In addition to Grosse Pointe Garden Society, two other NBC shows are waiting to hear whether they will be renewed or cancelled: Brilliant Minds and The Hunting Party. The answer is expected in the next few days.
