A few days after announcing the young actors who will play the main characters in Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story, Disney revealed the actors who will bring several iconic characters from its universe to life in this new Descendants TV movie.
As a reminder, Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story will follow the descendants of legendary sidekicks as they train at the Sidekick Academy to follow in their parents’ footsteps and, eventually, team up with a hero. But when two villains storm the academy, the young recruits will have to join forces to save the fairy-tale kingdom—without being able to count on help from the heroes or their parents.
As revealed in Disney’s initial announcements, the children of the Genie from Aladdin, Yzma and Kronk from The Emperor’s New Groove, and Lumière from Beauty and the Beast will be among the cast. Disney has now revealed the actors who will portray these characters made famous by their animated films.
James Monroe Inglehart will portray the Genie, a role he has already played on Broadway, while Sherry Cola, currently starring in Camp Rock 3, will play Yzma. Kronk will be played by Hugo Alteo (Siren, One of Us Is Lying), while Sean Yves Lessard (Reginald the Vampire, V.C. Andrews’ Dawn) will bring Lumière to life.
They will be joined in the cast by Darren Criss, best known for Glee and Hollywood, who will play Jiminy Cricket, the character from Pinocchio. Dan Bakkedahl (Life in Pieces, Veep) will play Yen Sid, the wizard from Fantasia.
The TV movie Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story will air on Disney Channel and Disney+ on a date yet to be announced by Disney.
