Disney isn’t done with the Descendants universe just yet. After the studio with the big ears revived the franchise in 2024—seven years after the original trilogy ended—it’s now set to expand it with a story centered on the children of the sidekicks of some well-known heroes.

Titled Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story, this new TV movie—coming to Disney+ and Disney Channel—will take place at the Sidekick Academy. At this school, the descendants of legendary sidekicks undergo training to follow in their parents’ footsteps and, eventually, team up with a hero. But when two villains storm the academy, the young recruits will have to join forces to save the fairy-tale kingdom—without being able to count on help from the heroes or their parents.

New Cast Members for the Descendants Franchise

The cast includes Dior Goodjohn (Percy Jackson & the Olympians) as Jennie, the Genie’s daughter in Aladdin. Momona Tamada (The Baby-Sitters Club) and Jacob Rodriguez (Tell Me Lies) will play Zara, Yzma’s daughter, and Kronk Jr., Kronk’s son—two characters from The Emperor’s New Groove.

Eva Fossaceca Smedley will play Meri, the daughter of Merryweather, one of the three fairy godmothers from Sleeping Beauty. Finally, Harry Jones will play Lou, Lumière’s son in Beauty and the Beast, while Rhys Dawkins (Clickbait), Connor Wong (Cruel Summer), and Kyra Wong (Elle) will play the children of Mrs. Potts, also from Beauty and the Beast.

The film Hidden Heroes: A Descendants Story will be directed by Jude Weng from a screenplay written by Tamara Chestna, Eydie Faye, and Emma Fletcher. As of this writing, Disney has not yet announced a release date. In the meantime, you can watch all the films in the Descendants franchise on Disney+.
