Another name has been added to the cast of God of War. After announcing the participation of Ryan Hurst, Mandy Patinkin, Alastair Duncan, Ed Skrein, and Teresa Palmer, among others, Prime Video has revealed that Sonya Walger will also be joining this adaptation of the eponymous video games.
Known for her roles in For All Mankind, Lost, and FlashForward, the actress will portray Freya, a Vanir goddess and princess who wields ancient and powerful magic. The former wife of Odin and ex-queen of the Valkyries, she was forced into exile in Midgard after the end of her marriage. Cut off from her people, she has lived in seclusion for a century in an isolated clearing, feared by humans.
Already confirmed for two seasons, the God of War series will follow Kratos (Ryan Hurst) and his son Atreus (Callum Vinson) on a journey to scatter the ashes of Faye, their deceased wife and mother. Throughout their journey, Kratos will try to teach his son to become a better god, while Atreus will seek to help his father gradually rediscover a part of his humanity.
