Why Women Kill, renewed for a third season in December 2021, will finally not return to the small screen as revealed by several American media. A decision that may seem surprising since Paramount+ had praised the excellent scores of the series on its platform when granting an additional season to Marc Cherry‘s show.

In a statement sent to Deadline and following the cancellation, a Paramount+ spokesperson said: “Paramount+ has made the difficult decision not to move forward with Season 3 of Why Women Kill. We would like to thank our partners at CBS Studios and Imagine Television Studios; the amazing creator and showrunner Marc Cherry; and the incredible writers, cast and crew for two memorable seasons.”

The first season of Why Women Kill followed three women who were victims of adultery in different time periods (the 1960s, the 1980s and contemporary times) while season 2 took place in 1949 and examined how far a woman was willing to go to be noticed by society. The cast of these two seasons included Ginnifer Goodwin, Lucy Liu, Kirby Howell-Baptiste, Lana Parrilla, Allison Tolman and Matthew Daddario.
