Good news for Why Women Kill fans, season 2 of Marc Cherry‘s (Desperate Housewives, Devious Maids) series just got its release date on Paramount+: June 3, 2021. The video-on-demand service has also revealed a teaser to promote this new season.
Season 1 told the story of three women, played by Ginnifer Goodwin (Once Upon Time), Lucy Liu (Elementary) and Kirby Howell-Baptiste (The Good Place), all living in the same house at three different times. All three of them are victims of their husbands’ betrayal.
Season 2 will feature a brand new cast and a brand new storyline. It will be set in 1949 and will follow the story of two housewives, Rita played by Lana Parillla (Once Upon Time) and Alma, a shy and awkward woman played by Allison Tolman (Fargo). It is the theme of beauty that should be in the spotlight during this season 2.
The cast also includes Matthew Daddario (Shadowhunters), Nick Frost (Into the Badlands), BK Cannon (Lie to me), Jordane Christie (The Haunting of Hill House) and Veronica Falcón (The Falcon and The Winter Soldier).
Funny anecdote about seasons 1 and 2: in season 1 the character of Jade is played by Alexandra Daddario who is the sister of Matthew Daddario. Matthew who will play a new character in this season 2.
