After saying goodbye to The Witcher and his role as Superman in the DCU, Henry Cavill won’t be without work for long. Indeed, the actor will play and produce a series based on the board game Warhamer 40, 000 for Amazon Studios. The news was made official by the studio itself in a statement.
Jennifer Salke, head of Amazon and MGM Studios, said, “Warhammer 40,000 has captured the imagination of fans of all ages, from all walks of life, and all over the world. We are excited to work with Henry, Vertigo Entertainment, and Games Workshop […] on this brilliant, immersive franchise.”
Henry Cavill, as a big fan of the franchise for 30 years promised to “promise to respect this IP that we love.” He added, “I promise to bring you something familiar. And I endeavour to bring you something fantastic that is, as of yet, unseen.”
For those unfamiliar with Warhammer 40,000, the action takes place in a futuristic, dystopian universe in the 41st century where humanity is on the cusp of what could be its brightest future, or its darkest age.
