There’s good news for fans of music series. The Runarounds, a new project from Jonas Pate (one of the creators of Outer Banks), will be available on Prime Video this autumn. The eight-episode series will be available in over 240 countries and territories worldwide.

It will follow a group of young graduates from Wilmington, North Carolina, who decide to form a rock band one summer. Driven by their passion for music and their dreams of stardom, the characters throw themselves body and soul into this adventure of romance, doubt, and friendship. According to the official synopsis, The Runarounds will capture “the rush of risking everything at the edge of adulthood to chase your dreams”.

Prime Video has assembled a cast of real-life artists to portray these fictional characters’ quest for success. William Lipton, Axel Ellis, Jeremy Yun, Zendé Murdock, and Jesse Golliher will bring the fictional band to life, based directly on the story of the group that formed in 2021 for Season 3 of Outer Banks. The artists will also perform the series’ original soundtrack and be joined in the credits by Lilah Pate (Outer Banks), Maximo Salas (Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies), Kelley Pereira, Marley Aliah (Abigail Falls), Mark Wystrach (Passions), Brooklyn Decker (Grace and Frankie), Hayes MacArthur (Angie Tribeca), and Shea Pritchard (The Summer I Turned Pretty).
