While some of the staff must return home, strange phenomena take place and all communications with the mainland are interrupted, while a thick mysterious fog appears.
In this series, Iain Glen plays Magnus MacMillan, the offshore site manager. He is accompanied by Emily Hampshire and Martin Compston among others.

Emily Hampshire is known for her roles in TV series such as the award-winning Schitt’s Creek, 12 Monkeys and Mary Kills People, as well as in films such as Snow Cake and My Awkward Sexual Adventure.
Martin Compston is known for the TV series Line of Duty, Sweet Sixteen and The Great Train Robbery. He has also appeared in movies such as A Guide to Recognizing Your Saints and The Disappearance of Alice Creed. Compston is also a highly respected actor and has won numerous awards for his work, including a BAFTA Scotland Award.
Finally, director John Strickland is known for his distinctive visual style and his ability to create tense and dramatic moods in his productions.
