Lisa Joy, who will soon be in France to attend Séries Mania, and Jonathan Nolan, producers of the series, said they were “thrilled to continue the journey into Season Two and delve deeper into the incredible world that Gibson created”. They added, “On behalf of Scott Smith, Vincenzo Natali, and the entire team, we’re grateful to our partners at Amazon and, most of all, to the fans.”
Based on the novel of the same name by William Gibson, The Peripheral follows Flynne Fisher (Chloë Grace Moretz), her Marine Corps veteran brother Burton (Jack Reynor), and their dying mother as they live in a small town in the Blue Ridge Mountains in the year 2032. To pay the bills, Flynne and Burton earn money playing simulations (Sims) and are soon invited to test a new simulation game set in London. But Flynne soon discovers that the simulation is much more realistic than it seems, and that it takes place… in the future. A battle begins to ensure his and his family’s survival, both in the present and in the future.
