Chastain Park Memorial Hospital closes its doors on FOX. A little more than two months after the last episode of season 6 of The Resident aired, the American network has just confirmed that the series will not return for a seventh season. The decision comes as The Resident has seen its ratings decline in recent months.

In a tweet, Amy Holden Jones, co-creator of The Resident, said: “It was a great run. […] Today is a day of gratitude for our amazing cast and crew and the life altering experience we shared.”

A few months earlier, she told TVLine that the Season 6 finale was written as the end of the series to deal with the possibility of cancellation.

Matt Czuchry set to join American Horror Story

While the end of the series has just been made official, The Hollywood Reporter informs us that Matt Czuchry, who played Conrad Hawkins, the main character of The Resident, should not stay away from the sets for long.

According to the American media, the actor has been approached to join the cast of the anthology American Horror Story in an unknown role. While waiting to see if this project will be confirmed, it will be possible to meet Matt Czuchry in France in September 2023. The actor, also known for his role in Gilmore Girls, will attend the convention For the love of Fandoms 2, organized on September 9 and 10, 2023 in Paris.
