Apple TV+ has just released the first trailer for its drama series Defending Jacob, an adaptation of William Landay’s eponymous novel, starring Chris Evans (Avengers), Michelle Dockery (Downton Abbey) and Jaeden Martell (IT) in the leading roles. Directed by Morten Tyldum, the Oscar-nominated director of The Imitation Game.
In this new series, scheduled for April 24th on the platform, we will follow the Barber family, whose destiny is turned upside down when 14-year-old Jacob (Jaeden Martell) is accused of murdering one of his classmates. The family will then do everything in their power to prove the teenager’s innocence. Andy Barber (Chris Evans), assistant prosecutor and Jacob’s father, is torn between his love for his son and his duty as a prosecutor.
The 8-episode series will also include Betty Gabriel (Counterpart), Sakina Jaffrey (Timeless), Cherry Jones (Transparent), Pablo Schreiber (American Gods) and Jordan Alexa Davis (Vampirina) in its cast.
