Not done with its adaptation of Michael Connelly‘s novels, Netflix has decided to renew The Lincoln Lawyer series for a third season. The news was revealed less than a month after the release of the second batch of episodes that make up Season 2.

Ted Humphrey and Dailyn Rodriguez, co-showrunners and executive producers of the series, said they were “thrilled to have the opportunity to dive back into Michael Connelly’s universe and bring Mickey Haller and his world to the screen again.”

Season 3 of The Lincoln Lawyer will adapt the fifth book in the saga written by Michael Connelly. In the novel, titled The Gods of Guilt, Mickey Haller receives a text message with the words “Call me – 187. 187 is code for “murder”. In this case, Haller has to defend a new defendant and learns that the victim, Gloria Dayton, is a former prostitute he thought he’d helped go straight. Discovering that she tricked him into continuing to prostitute herself, and imagining that he may have been the one who put her in danger, quickly puts him under pressure. Not to mention the fact that some of the people who are supposed to uphold the law don’t appreciate Haller’s meddling in their affairs. Haunted by the ghosts of his past, the lawyer will have to work tirelessly and use all his talents to solve the case.

To recap the beginning of the series, The Lincoln Lawyer follows Mickey Haller (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo), an idealistic Los Angeles attorney who runs his business from the back seat of his Lincoln. He is helped by his ex-wife Lorna (Becki Newton), his chauffeur (Jazz Raycole) and Lorna’s new fiancé Cisco (Angus Sampson). They will all be back in Season 3 of the series, whose air date has not yet been announced.
