Published between 2005 and 2010, Rick Riordan’s “Percy Jackson” saga proved to be a huge success in bookstores before being adapted into films and comic books. Today, an adaptation into a television series for Disney+ is under development.

Though it’s already been ten years since Percy Jackson said “goodbye” to us in the novels written by Rick Riordan, the demigod is far from having pronounced his last word. With two short film adaptations on his account, as well as a series of adventures made into comic books, the 12-year-old hero will soon be back in the limelight with a series that will be available on Disney+.

A series faithful to the novels

The first season, which will be faithful to the plot of the books, will be based entirely on the beginning of the story, namely “The Lightning Thief”. In this first volume, Percy discovers that he is none other than the son of Poseidon, the God of the Seas. His status as a demigod leads him to go to Camp Half-Blood in order to learn how to survive. However, the teenager will find himself in the middle of a war that confronts the Greek Gods and the Titans. The reboot will not take into account any adaptations that may have preceded it on the big screen. So, there will probably be a new cast of actors who will be waiting for the viewers.
