House of the Dragon: Season 2 available on HBO in June 2024

The wait is about to end for fans of the House of the Dragon series. According to Variety, Season 2 of the Game of Thrones prequel will be available on HBO in June. While the exact broadcast date has yet to be revealed, the launch month for this new salvo of episodes was confirmed by JB Perrette, Warner Bros. Discovery streaming and gaming chief, at a conference.

Based on the novel Fire & Blood by George R.R. Martin, House of the Dragon follows House Targaryen as it revisits the conflict for the throne following the death of Viserys I, nearly 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones.

The season 2 cast includes Matt Smith (Prince Daemon Targaryen), Olivia Cooke (Alicent Hightower), Emma D’Arcy (Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen), Eve Best (Princess Rhaenys Targaryen), Steve Toussaint (Lord Corlys Velaryon), Fabien Frankel (Ser Criston Cole), Ewan Mitchell (Aemond Targaryen), Tom Glynn-Carney (Aegon II Targaryen), Sonoya Mizuno (Mysaria) and Rhys Ifans (Ser Otto Hightower).

The new season of House of the Dragon also introduces a number of new faces, including Clinton Liberty (Addam of Hull), Abubakar Salim (Alyn of Hull), Gayle Rankin (Alys Rivers), Freddie Fox (Ser Gwayne Hightower), Simon Russell Beale (Ser Simon Strong), Jamie Kenna (Ser Alfred Broome), Kieran Bew (Hugh), Tom Bennett (Ulf), Tom Taylor (Lord Cregan Stark) and Vincent Regan (Ser Rickard Thorne).
