While the first season of House of the Dragon has just finished airing on HBO, fans of the series will have to be patient.
Casey Bloys, chief content officer for HBO and HBO Max, told Vulture that we shouldn’t expect to see the new episodes on the air in 2023. Instead, he says the second season is expected to air sometime in 2024. “We’re just starting to put the plan together, and just like last time, there are so many unknowns. It’s not to be coy or secretive, but you don’t want to say it’s going to be ready on this date, and then you have to move it”.
A hit throughout its airing run, House of the Dragon averaged 29 million viewers per episode (including digital platforms) and became HBO’s second most watched series behind Game of Thrones.
