After walking the streets of Seattle in Grey’s Anatomy and New York in Only Murders in the Building, Jesse Williams heads to Italy for his new TV series Costiera.
In this action-comedy directed by Adam Bernstein (Beaking Bad, 30 Rock), Jesse Williams will play Daniel De Luca, an Italian-American former Marine who returns to Italy, the country of his childhood, to work as a repairman in a luxury hotel. But when one of the owner’s daughters disappears, Daniel must do everything in his power to find her and bring her home, while solving the ever-changing problems of the hotel’s guests.
In a press release, Adam Bernstein made no secret of his excitement about working with the actor, who will also serve as a producer: “I’ve always admired his work – both on stage and screen, and he’s the first actor that came to my mind for the role of Daniel De Luca. Jesse provides a perfect combination of intelligence, charisma, and humor, and we’re incredibly lucky to have him at the center of our show.“
Costiera, created by Luca Bernarbi and written by Elena Bucaccio, will air on Prime Video in Italy, France, Spain and Portugal, where Amazon MGM Studios holds the rights. Internationally, the rights are held by Fremantle’s Lux Vid, and the TV production company will be in charge of finding broadcasters to bring the action-comedy to the masses.
