Kim Cattrall, who was absent from the first season of And Just Like That, the sequel to Sex and the City, will briefly reprise her role as Samantha Jones.
According to Variety, Cattrall’s character will appear in the Season 2 finale, but will not interact directly with the trio of Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker), Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte (Kristin Davis). The American media reports that Samantha Jones will appear in a single scene in which she talks to Carrie on the phone.
This appearance is the initiative of Casey Bloys, president of HBO and Max Content, while a year earlier Sarah Jessica Parker and series creator Michael Patrick King said they couldn’t imagine a scenario in which Kim Cattrall would reprise her role as Samantha. As a reminder, the character’s absence was justified by a move to London following a dispute with Carrie.
