The highly anticipated series Ahsoka had the honor of its own panel during the Star Wars Celebration event, held from April 7 to 10, 2023 in London. A moment chosen by Dave Filoni and Jon Favreau, creators of the series, to reveal that David Tennant and Lars Mikkelsen will appear in the credits of the series, which will be carried by Rosario Dawson. The two actors will be playing roles that they have already played in the Star Wars universe.
David Tennant will voice the droid Huyang, a character he voiced in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Lars Mikkelsen will be the face of Grand Admiral Thrawn, a character he voiced in Star Wars: Rebels.
The Ahsoka panel was also an opportunity to learn the names of the directors who will be working on the series. In addition to Dave Filoni, Steph Green, Peter Ramsey, Jennifer Getzinger, Geeta Patel and Rick Famuyiwa are expected to be behind the camera.
The day before the panel, Lucasfilm and Disney had already teased the series with a nearly 2-minute trailer, which can be seen below.
The Ahsoka series, which is expected to air on Disney+ in August, features a cast that includes Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Sabine Wren), Mary Elizabeth Winstead (Hera Syndulla), Ray Stevenson (Baylan Skoll), Ivanna Sakhno (Shin Hati), Emma Esfandi (Ezra Bridger) and Diana Lee Inosanto (Morgan Elsbeth).
