Prime Video will release a new romance in the summer of 2025: The Map That Leads to You, an adaptation of J.P. Monninger‘s novel of the same name. The film is expected to premiere on August 20, 2025, and stars KJ Apa (Riverdale) and Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks). It promises to take viewers on an exotic and moving journey through Europe.
Directed by Lasse Hallström (Gilbert Grape, An Unfinished Life) and written by Vera Herbert (This Is Us) and Les Bohem (Shut Eye), The Map That Leads to You tells the story of Heather (Madelyn Cline), a young woman who embarks on one last trip across Europe with her best friends, played by Madison Thompson and Sofia Wylie, before starting a carefully planned life.
However, when she meets Jack (KJ Apa), a mysterious and charismatic stranger, her plans are turned upside down. From the very first moment, an intense connection develops between them, taking them on an unexpected emotional journey. As their adventure unfolds, buried secrets, decisive choices, and hard truths will test their bond and transform Heather’s life in ways she could never have imagined.
While in Paris in March for Dream It Fest Paris 2, KJ Apa took the opportunity to meet with fans and discuss his experience filming with Madelyn Cline. He said that he loved working with her and pointed out that they improvised many scenes, which resulted in some particularly funny moments on set. The final product will be available on Prime Video at the end of the summer.
