A few weeks after Final Destination, it’s the turn of I Know What You Did Last Summer, another iconic horror saga, to unveil its first trailer, which confirms the return of two familiar faces from the franchise: Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr., who played Julie James and Ray Bronson, respectively. Nearly three decades after their first appearance on our screens, these two characters will help a whole new generation survive the mysterious hook and spear killer, as the trailer shows.
Directed by Jennifer Kaytin Robinson (Do Revenge), I Know What You Did Last Summer will take place in Southport, the original site of the 1997 massacre, as five friends involved in a fatal accident face the consequences of their actions. “What did you do last summer?” asks Julie James (Jennifer Love Hewitt) when one of the potential victims comes to her for help. For his part, Ray Bronson (Freddie Prinze Jr.) calls on the authorities to take action, pointing out that this isn’t the first time the seaside town has been hit by such a tragedy.
In addition to Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. the cast also includes Chase Sui Wonders (Genera+ion), Madelyn Cline (Outer Banks), Sarah Pidgeon (The Wilds), Tyriq Withers (Tell Me Lies), Lola Tung (The Summer I Turned Pretty), Nicholas Alexander Chavez (Monsters), Austin Nichols (One Tree Hill), Billy Campbell (Cardinal), Gabbriette and Jonah Hauer-King (The Tattooist of Auschwitz).
I Know What You Did Last Summer will be released in U.S. cinemas on July 18, 2025. Are you looking forward to this new film? Let us know in the comments.
