Rachel Zegler, the actress who plays Maria in the long-awaited remake of the musical West Side Story, will soon play another classic role: Snow White.
According to Deadline, the actress has been chosen by Disney to play the famous princess in the live-action remake of the studio’s first animated film.
Following the announcement, Marc Webb, director of the film, said, “Rachel’s extraordinary vocal abilities are just the beginning of her gifts. Her strength, intelligence and optimism will become an integral part of rediscovering the joy in this classic Disney fairytale.”
The shooting of this new version of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is expected to begin in 2022, again according to Deadline. In the meantime, Rachel Zegler will be back in theaters this December for the film West Side Story.
