Legally Blonde‘s third instalment, which has been in the pipeline for many years, is now moving forward. According to Deadline‘s information, MGM has hired a new duo to write the script for the movie that will see the return of Reese Witherspoon as Elle Woods. The actress will also produce the film through her studio Hello Sunshine.
The script of Legally Blonde 3 will be entrusted to Mindy Kaling and Dan Goor, a duo currently working together on a comedy for Universal. Mindy Kalling is also known for her roles in The Office and The Mindy Project. She is also the creator of the series My First Times, Four Weddings and a Funeral and Champions. Dan Goor is also a comedy veteran, and is best known for the brilliant show Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
The first Legally Blonde movie, released in 2001 was a genuine box-office success, earning $141.7 million for a budget of $18 million.
