People's Choice Awards 2024 : Barbie, Taylor Swift & The Last of Us parmi les gagnants

Si Barbie a dû s’incliner face à Oppenheimer aux Golden Globes et aux Critics Choice Awards, c’est bien le film de Greta Gerwig qui sort grand gagnant des People’s Choice Awards avec 5 récompenses. Le long-métrage repart avec les prix du meilleur film de l’année, de la meilleure comédie, de la meilleure star masculine dans un film (Ryan Gosling), de la meilleure star féminine dans un film (Margot Robbie) et de la meilleure performance dans un film (America Ferrera). A noter que Nicki Minaj & Ice Spice, qui ont signé la chanson Barbie World pour le film, ont quant à elles obtenu le prix de la collaboration de l’année.

Derrière Barbie, c’est le film The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes qui obtient le plus d’awards. En effet, le long-métrage de Francis Lawrence est couronné film d’action de l’année et Rachel Zegler, l’interprète de Lucy Gray Bird, repart avec celui de la meilleure star de cinéma dans un film d’action. Dans les catégories restantes, ce sont Oppenheimer (meilleur film dramatique), Jenna Ortega pour son rôle dans Scream VI (meilleure star de cinéma dans un film dramatique) et Jennifer Lawrence pour son interprétation dans No Hard Feelings (meilleure star de cinéma dans une comédie) qui ont été plébiscités.

Du côté des séries TV, Grey’s Anatomy repart de nouveau avec un People’s Choice Award. Cette fois-ci, c’est celui de la série de l’année. Cependant, deux programmes font mieux en nombre de prix puisque Only Murders in the Building (meilleure comédie et star de télé féminine de l’année pour Selena Gomez) et The Last of US (meilleure série dramatique et star de télé masculine de l’année pour Pedro Pascal) repartent chacune avec deux prix. En ce qui concerne les artistes musicaux, Taylor Swift est, comme attendu, l’une des plus soutenues par les internautes. La chanteuse, qui est actuellement en pleine tournée, a été couronnée meilleure artiste féminine, meilleure artiste pop et célébrité sociale de l’année. The Eras Tour obtient aussi un prix, celui de tournée de l’année. A noter que son compagnon, Travis Kelce, a quant à lui été plébiscité dans la catégorie athlète de l’année.

Parmi les autres artistes à repartir avec un People’s Choice Awards, nous pouvons noter la présence d’Olivia Rodrigo (chanson de l’année et album de l’année), Beyoncé (artiste R&B de l’année) ou encore Stray Kids (groupe de l’année).
