Critics Choice Awards 2024 : Oppenheimer, Barbie, The Bear et Beef en tête des récompenses

Comme lors des Golden Globes, quelques jours plus tôt, c’est Oppenheimer qui s’en sort le mieux à l’issue de la cérémonie des Critics Choice Awards 2024. Avec huit récompenses, dont celle du meilleur film et du meilleur réalisateur, le film de Christopher Nolan devance Barbie (six prix) dans les catégories cinéma. Le long-métrage de Greta Gerwig, dédié à la célèbre poupée de Mattel, repart notamment avec les Critics Choice Awards de la meilleure comédie, du meilleur scénario original et de la meilleure chanson (I’m Just Ken).

Côté acteurs et actrices, la plus importante organisation de critiques de cinéma et de séries en Amérique du Nord a décidé de délivrer l’award de la meilleure actrice à Emma Stone pour son rôle dans Poor Things et celui de meilleur acteur à Paul Giamatti dans The Holdovers. Le film d’Alexander Payne est aussi récompensé des prix de la meilleure actrice secondaire (Da’Vine Joy Randolph) et du meilleur jeune acteur (Dominic Sessa).

Dans les catégories dédiées aux séries télé, il n’y a pas vraiment eu de surprise, puisque Succession, The Bear et Beef repartent avec le plus de récompenses, comme lors des Golden Globes. Pour sa dernière saison, Succession empoche les Critics Choice Awards de la meilleure série dramatique, du meilleur acteur et de la meilleure actrice dans une série dramatique. De son côté, The Bear hérite des prix de la meilleure série comique, du meilleur acteur, de la meilleure actrice et du meilleur acteur secondaire dans une série comique. Enfin, Beef a eu le droit de repartir avec l’award de la meilleure mini-série et ceux du meilleur acteur, de la meilleure actrice et de la meilleure actrice secondaire dans une mini-série ou un téléfilm.
