No one expected it, but the Wynonna Earp series is getting a sequel almost three years after season 4 ended on Syfy. As revealed by Vanity Fair, the show created by Emily Andras will return to the small screen in the form of a special 90-minute episode that will air on Tubi.
For this episode, titled Wynonna Earp: Vengeance, fans will be reunited with several familiar faces, starting with those of Melanie Scrofano (Wynonna Earp), Tim Rozon (Doc Holliday), Dom Provost-Chalkley (Waverly Earp) and Katherine Barrell (Nicole Haught).
As for the episode’s plot, Emily Andras tells Vanity Fair: “Doc and Wynonna have been on an adventure, and Waverly and Nicole have been at home in Purgatory, doing their thing. I think it’s going to be really interesting to see, hopefully, what gets everybody home—maybe facing a challenge they’ve never faced before, something pretty intense”. The series creator adds that with this special episode, she hopes to allow newcomers to discover the world of Wynonna Earp while giving Earpers a great story featuring a villain woman motivated by revenge.
The series follows Wynonna Earp, descendant of legendary gun ace Wyatt Earp, as she returns to her hometown of Purgatory on her 27th birthday. Helped by her sister Waverly, Doc Holliday and Nicole, she battles the demons killed by her great-great-grandfather, who are coming back to haunt the living because of a curse that has hung over her family for generations.
