After the announcement of the return of the 90210 original casting in a new series, one of the big question was: will Shannen Doherty be part of it? While early reports suggested that the actress would not participate in the project, Tori Spelling left the door open stating that she would like to see her in these new episodes. It seems that Tori Spelling has been heard since Deadline reveals exclusively that Shannen Doherty will actually participate in BH90210, a series of six episodes broadcasted on FOX this summer.
This is not the first time Shannen Doherty is back in the world of 90210. Indeed, the actress got her role of Brenda Walsh back during seven episodes in the series 90210 Beverly Hills – New Generation. She joined there Jennie Garth, the actress who plays Kelly Taylor.
Originally known as 90210, the series will keep the original cast who will be playing fictionalized versions of themselves as they gather together to make a reboot of the series that made them known. Jason Priestley (Brandon Walsh), Jennie Garth, Ian Ziering (Steve Sander), Gabrielle Carteris (Andrea Zuckerman), Brian Austin Green (David Silver), Tori Spelling (Donna Martin) and Shannen Doherty will all be back in this series directed by Mike Chessler and Chris Alberghini. BH90210 is due to pay tribute to Luke Perry (Dylan McKay), who died last March.
