In France for a Shadowhunters convention, Matthew Daddario and Harry Shum Jr, who play Alec Lightwood and Magnus Bane, did a joint panel to the delight of fans of the “Malec” couple. It was a chance for fans to see that the chemistry between the two actors is still omnipresent and to learn a little more about their favorite scenes together.
Matthew Daddario and Harry Shum Jr. agree that their favorite scenes with Alec and Magnus are those with a dose of comedy. Since the show is very serious, even dark, the scenes with a touch of humor were the most fun to play.
Among those scenes, they mention the jealousy scenes, the scene with the goat’s legs, or the scenes in the house with Lorenzo (Javier Muñoz). Harry Shum Jr. admits that one of his favorite Shadowhunters lines is the one Lorenzo says to Alec as they look at an El Greco painting in the episode “The Powers That Be” (3×02).
