Sebastian Roché, a familiar face on the small screen, will try his hand at a new genre when he joins the K-drama Queen of Tears. As revealed by Deadline, the French actor will star in the new Korean production from tvN and Netflix, with episodes set to debut on the streaming platform on March 9, 2024.
The series will follow Hong Hae-in (Kim Ji Won), heiress to the Queens Group and queen of department stores, who has been married for three years to Baek Hyeon-u (Kim Soo Hyun), son of the village chief of Yongdu-ri and prince of supermarkets. As the couple goes through a marital crisis, their love is miraculously reborn.
Queen of Tears stars Sebastian Roché as Dr. Braun, a German doctor who has a special relationship with both heroes. This will be the first K-drama experience for the actor, who has previously appeared in The Vampire Diaries, The Originals, 1923, Big Sky, The Young Pope, Batwoman and General Hospital.
The 16-episode Queen of Tears series will also feature Park Sung Hoon, Kwak Dong Yeon and Lee Joo Bin as lead actors.
