At CCXP Mexico 2026, HBO Max took the opportunity to announce the release date for the The Big Bang Theory spin-off, as well as to highlight another hit franchise. With Matt Smith, Olivia Cooke, and Fabien Frankel—three stars of House of the Dragon, the Game of Thrones spin-off—on stage, the platform unveiled a teaser for Season 3. The video was then posted online a few hours later, much to the delight of fans.

In this new eight-episode season, the struggle for the throne promises to be more intense than ever—and particularly bloody, as the trailer suggests. “You will have an empire unassailable, Rhaenyra. And our children will rule it forever and a day,” promises Daemon Targaryen. But that will not be the case, as Game of Thrones has already shown.

Matt Smith, who plays Daemon, gave fans a heads-up at CCXP Mexico 2026: “This season, we’re trying to make it bigger, bolder, bloodier, more brutal, more dangerous — just get back to the nuts and bolts of what we are as a show.” It’s enough to make you wish it were already June 21, the launch date for Season 3 of House of the Dragon on HBO.

The series will air one episode per week through August 9, 2026. In France, episodes will be available the day after their U.S. premiere on HBO Max.
