After the return of many cult characters during season 17, Grey’s Anatomy is about to see the return of another iconic character of the series: Addison Montgomery.

Kate Walsh, who plays her, has made her return official with a video published on the social networks of the series. In it, the actress is delighted to be back home and to participate in this 18th season.

The character of Addison Montgomery had made a noticeable arrival during the final episode of season 1 and had quickly been promoted to regular during the following seasons. Due to the success of this character, Shonda Rhimes, the creator of Grey’s Anatomy, decided to offer her her own spin-off: Private Practice. A wise choice since the series will get six seasons.

The last appearance of Addison Montgomery in Grey’s Anatomy was in 2012 in the episode If/Then during which Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) imagines what could have been her life if some elements of her past had been “changed”.

Abigail Spencer is also back

Kate Walsh won’t be the only familiar face making a return in season 18. Abigail Spencer, who played Megan Hunt in seasons 14 and 15, is also joining the cast of the upcoming season.

According to TVLine, Megan Hunt’s character will appear in several episodes and will make her first appearance in the season 18 premiere episode. Details on why she will be returning were not revealed.
