Chucky is back. Three years after the announcement of a series featuring the serial killer doll, Don Mancini was able to reveal a first trailer of his new project at the Comic-Con@Home 2021.
In this series of 10 episodes, available from October 12 on SYFY, the creator of the franchise wants to return to the essence of the first opus and want the protagonists to be young. Chucky will focus on Jake (Zackary Arthur), a 14-year-old gay boy who is bullied and lost after his mother’s death. As a young artist making sculptures out of doll parts, he buys Chucky at a yard sale but soon realizes that the doll he acquires is more than he expected.
This encounter will be particularly deadly for those around Jake since, as one character mentions in the trailer, wherever the young man goes, death seems to follow. And his new doll is no stranger to this.
Brad Dourif, the iconic voice of the serial killer doll in most of the films will be back for this project just like Alex Vincent, Christine Elise and Jennifer Tilly, famous actor and actresses from the frangise. The cast also includes Devon Sawa (Final Destination), Teo Briones (Ratched), Alyvia Alyn Lind (Daybreak), Björgvin Arnarson (PEN15) and Barbara Alyn Woods (One Tree Hill).
