Announced a few months ago, Bookie, Chuck Lorre‘s new series about sports betting, unveils its first trailer. The eight episodes that make up the first season will be available from Thursday, November 30, 2023 on Max.

In this dark comedy, we follow Danny (Sebastian Maniscalco), a Los Angeles bookmaker who sees the future of his business darken with the possible legalization of sports betting. Along with his best friend and former NFL player Ray (Omar J. Dorsey), his sister Lorraine (Vanessa Ferlito) and Hector (Jorge Garcia), a former drug dealer, Danny must deal with increasingly troubled customers while making many risky bets himself. The official synopsis adds that Bookie tells the story of one man’s journey to adapt to an ever-changing world as he attempts to charm and con his way to the top.

A reunion between Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen

More than 10 years after the end of their turbulent collaboration on Two and a Half Men, Chuck Lorre and Charlie Sheen have buried the hatchet and collaborated on the series Bookie, as confirmed by the trailer above.

Appearing in two episodes of the first season, according to TVLine, Charlie Sheen will play one of Danny’s clients who’s having trouble paying his debts. It’s a role not so far removed from the one he played in Two and a Half Men, with Charlie Harper not hesitating to gamble at the slightest opportunity.

Chuck Lorre told TVLine about his reunion: “It really felt good. It felt like we were closing the book on some horrible times, and we had a good time”. Enough to make fans of the actor and prolific producer hope for a new collaboration? Only time will tell.
